Matua Community Playground more accessible

The recent upgrades to the Matua Community Playground were designed with community spirit and collaboration in mind.

Tauranga City Council worked closely with Ngāi Tamarāwaho to honour the area’s history as a māra kai by featuring a beautiful kūmara vine pattern on the retaining walls.

We also had the local tamariki from the Matua Scout Group contribute their creative ideas to the playground’s design.

With new pathways connecting the park to the neighbourhood and plenty of seating, the space is now more accessible and enjoyable for all.
