Good progress has been made on finishing the linking section over the dunes on Pāpāmoa Beach Road, near Alexander Place. It is now open, ready for the community to enjoy.
Contractors will be back the week starting Monday, 6 January 2025 to complete remaining elements, which includes: the final mahi toi pattern; marking the beach access on the western side before the boardwalk over the dunes; removal of the temporary diversion alongside the road; and reinstatement of the area once containers and site set ups are removed.
Papamoa Ward Councillor Steve Morris said that it’s wonderful to have the pathway ready for use in time for Christmas.
“This walkway has proved so popular with our community, and I am thrilled to be able to enjoy it with my family over the summer break.”
