To support construction activity across the motorway, a number of night closures for the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road will be required over the coming months, including tomorrow night, Wednesday 17 September 2025.
This night closure will allow us to lift three bridge beams into place; work that commenced mid-August when we installed the first nine beams. To safely complete this work, traffic in both directions of the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road will be diverted via Te Puke Highway from 8pm Wednesday, 17 September until 5am Thursday, 18 September.
As we work towards the completion of the bridge, further night closures are anticipated over the coming months. This will enable the safe construction of the bridge deck base and the installation of bridge barriers. When progress allows, we’ll be able to remove the concrete barriers that support the current lane reduction on the motorway, which will also be done during a night closure.
Details on closures are shared with the community via digital signs at the entry to the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road as well as bulletins issued by Tauranga City Council and NZTA. Additional information is available via The Pāpāmoa East Interchange.
