Cameron Road night-time maintenance works

Tauranga City Council will be carrying out night-time road maintenance works on Cameron Road over the next few weeks. The work is happening in three stages.

Each stage will take between three and five nights, with short breaks between stages. The first stage near Greerton has just been completed.

Cameron Road will stay open throughout the works, with traffic management in place to keep everyone moving.

Stage Two – Church Street to Twenty Second Avenue: Sunday, 1 March to Tuesday, 3 March  (6pm to 8am)
This stage is expected to take three to five nights, with physical works between 7pm and 5am. There will be lane closures on Cameron Road, but a lane will stay open in each direction.

Access changes include:

  • No access to Munro Street or Twenty Second Avenue from Cameron Road. Munro Street traffic will exit through the shopping centre.
  • After 8pm, Twenty Second Avenue will be closed at Cameron Road. Use Seventeenth Avenue/Fraser Street/Courtney Road or Chadwick Road/Fraser Street/Courtney Road instead.
  • Kauri Street will be closed at Cameron Road. Please use Twenty Third Avenue/Rimu Street.

Stage Three – Seventeenth Avenue to Twenty First Avenue (near the hospital)
This work is expected to be done by mid-March. It will take three to five nights, with a lane open each way to reduce disruption.

These closures are for patch repairs, necessary to keep the road functioning safely and efficiently until the Cameron Road Stage 2 project gets underway in a few years’ time.

All works are weather dependent.
