Night works on Fifteenth Avenue and Turret Road to help plan future upgrades

Road users and nearby residents are advised that night-time investigation works will begin from 11 October along the Fifteenth Avenue and Turret Road corridor between Cameron Road and the Hairini Causeway.

The work, which is part of Council’s Fifteenth Avenue to Welcome Bay upgrade, will take place over five nights across a two-week period, between 6pm and 6am, to minimise impacts on daytime traffic.

The investigations will help engineers better understand the condition of the road which will help inform what level of future road pavement work may be needed.

Crews will complete approximately 14 test holes along the route. Each hole will be cut with an electric breaker (to minimise noise), sampled, refilled and compacted once testing is complete. Around three test holes are expected to be completed each night. Traffic management will include a combination of single-lane closures and stop/go operations to maintain access and ensure the safety of road users and workers.

While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, road users are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time where required.
